In our everyday language we call “stress” any state in which we feel tension, pressure or overwhelm; for example, when things at work or in the business do not work as we would like and they get complicated more and more, and we feel the threat that something can go wrong and that we are going to fail in our mission or in our project.
However, there is a big difference between work stress and financial stress. The first is due to the pressures of work, the boss, customers, colleagues, deadlines, etc., but in the end, when you leave and arrive at your home, with your family, with friends or with your partner, you may feel relief. The source of the origin was left behind, at least temporarily, and you can relax a little.
On the contrary, financial stress you wear all the time. When you have a debt, when you do not have enough money, when you lose your job or someone who was going to pay you do not do it, a state is generated that you carry all day. It does not matter if you are in your office, in your business or at home with your loved ones, it is terrible, and the more you think about the situation, the more tension grows.
People who work in a company or trade have to take money to their families; those who have a business, also have the pressure to pay the payroll and its suppliers; those who work independently, live with the uncertainty of knowing where their next income will come from. No matter what you do, financial stress lives in you in one way or another, and in some, several or too many moments of your life.
And the question is: do we have to resign ourselves to living like this, with that terrible feeling of being worried and anguished? Many people lose sleep and wake up several times to be mortified more and more by the same situation, and the more you think the more you seem to get away from the solution. It could, then, happen that people with financial stress are more likely to make wrong financial decisions, because their thinking is clouded by worry; for example, those who “uncover a hole to cover another”, and the only thing they achieve is to make the agony longer.
Worse yet, there are people who go to remedies that instead of reducing stress, increase it, such as smoking, drinking, eating, shopping, watching television or focusing on social activities or entertainment (parties, parties, meetings) to seek relief . A great Buddhist monk once said: “The human being loves to suffer only because it feels so good when it ceases for a moment.” But relief is not the cure. To stop feeling that financial stress for a moment does not mean that we have solved the situation. In fact, some remedies that produce relief may cause you to return even stronger.
Then what do we do? First of all, we must keep in mind that we are always going to have a certain amount of stress and we have to learn to live with it; That puts a bit of emotion and passion in life, which indicates that we are exploring outside of our comfort zone and that we are growing or learning something. The bad thing, perhaps, is quantity: when stress affects our lives, our loved ones, when our mood changes, it does not let us sleep and even makes us sick.
Obviously, what occurs to us is that to have that moderate amount of stress we would have to change our situation (improving our bad credit loans) and live as comfortably as we have dreamed, which is not always a quick thing to achieve. Fortunately, while we do it we can also apply other methods that, in my opinion, not only relieve stress temporarily, but reduce it gradually if we are consistent.
Some very popular remedies that work to a certain point and for certain degrees of stress are: exercise, music, aromatherapy, therapies, breathing exercises, massages, teas, medications under professional prescription, pray (in the sense of “asking”) , etc.
In my opinion, the remedies (less popular) that work much better and in an amazing way, if practiced consistently and with a lot of perseverance, are: meditation, yoga, planning, acceptance, humor, hugging, sex with love, activities family with harmony and prayer (in the sense of “thank”).
Without excess, but with regular practice, these solutions work -among other things- because they help you see things as they are, and not worse than they already are; that is, they help you to have a new perspective, not only of the financial situation you are going through, but of your entire life. Some of these solutions work better for some people than for others, and several of them require an appropriate technique or instruction (for example: yoga or meditation). So, if you’re interested in reducing your financial stress, break paradigms!
